What's on an Indian buffet
A Jaflong buffet is built in courses so guests can help themselves in a steady flow: starters such as samosas, onion bhajis and tandoori tikka; a main selection of curries balanced from mild to hot; a rice and bread station with pilau, biryani and freshly baked naan; and sides, chutneys and salads served alongside.
Vegetarian and vegan dishes are cooked as dishes in their own right, not as a single afterthought tray — a buffet can be built fully vegetarian, fully vegan, or mixed so every guest has real choice. The full dish list is on our menu page, and menus are finalised with you before the date.
How many dishes for your guest count
As a working guide for a buffet: around 20–40 guests, 2 starters, 3 mains, a rice and a bread; 50–100 guests, 3 starters, 4 mains, two rice options and two breads; 100+ guests, 3–4 starters and 5 mains so the serving line keeps moving and later guests still find a full spread.
Quantities are calculated per head rather than per dish, so adding dishes spreads the same volume across more variety instead of increasing the total cost.
Buffet service options
We offer drop-off buffets, managed buffet service with staff, and bespoke event catering. Food stalls and marquee catering are available by arrangement.
Drop-off buffets arrive in chafing dishes with burners, serving utensils and disposable or hired crockery, set up on your tables and ready to serve. Staffed service adds servers who manage the line, top up dishes through the event and clear afterwards.
