Event catering in Barnes — for committees, clubs and sponsors

Barnes Green, the riverside clubs and a community calendar built around one very large July Saturday.

Barnes has one of the strongest community event calendars in south west London, anchored by Barnes Fair on Barnes Green — around 300 stalls and free entry, run by the Barnes Community Association as its main fundraiser. Around it sits a year of club dinners, church hall evenings, school fairs and riverside gatherings.

The village layout shapes the catering. Church Road and the Green get busy and hard to drive through on event days, the river side has restricted access, and most halls have a kitchen suitable for tea and not much else. Hot-held delivery solves that: we cook at our Richmond kitchen, bring it hot in chafing units and need no cooking facilities from you.

We are not a past Barnes Fair stallholder and we do not pretend otherwise — but Barnes is inside our free delivery radius and we are open to a pitch if a committee wants an Indian food stall on the line-up.

Getting food to you in Barnes

    • Free delivery — Barnes is inside the ten-mile radius from our Richmond kitchen.
    • On fair day the roads around the Green are congested; we plan an early drop and a hot hold rather than fighting the traffic at midday.
    • Boathouse and towpath deliveries usually mean a trolley run — give us the distance from the nearest vehicle access.
    • No cooking needed at your venue: hot transport, temperature check on arrival, chafing units, and we take our own rubbish away.

    Who books us here

    • Barnes Fair and community association committees
    • Rowing and riverside clubs
    • School and PTA committees in SW13
    • Churches, halls and residents' groups
    • Local businesses sponsoring a community event

    How the money works

Every booking is a paid booking. We do not provide donated food, free stalls or sponsorship in kind, including for charity and not-for-profit events — the overheads are the same whoever the day is for. There are three ways we trade, and whichever it is goes in writing before the date is held:

    • • A flat catering fee, quoted against your menu and numbers.
    • • A guaranteed minimum spend, underwritten by the organiser.
    • • A pitch fee plus a share of takings.

Cross-promotion sits alongside a paid booking, never instead of one: we will promote your event to our website, social channels and mailing list, and we are glad to co-brand signage where it suits both sides. Staffed stall rates and the deposit are set out on our event and fair catering rates page.

    Barnes organiser questions

Have you had a stall at Barnes Fair?

No, and we will not claim one. We deliver catering across Barnes and would be glad to be considered for a food pitch — the Barnes Community Association emails stallholder applications to its mailing list each January.

Can you deliver on Barnes Fair day?

Yes, with planning. The roads around the Green are congested on fair day, so we drop early and hold the food hot rather than arriving into midday traffic.

Do you charge for delivery to SW13?

No. Barnes is inside our free delivery radius from Richmond.
