Catering in Barnes on fair weekend
Barnes Fair turns the second Saturday in July into a full weekend in SW13. Families come back from the Green late in the afternoon, clubs hold socials that evening, and houses along Church Road, Castelnau and Station Road fill up with visitors. That is the weekend people ring us about — not a sit-down dinner, but enough hot food to feed a garden full of people without anyone cooking.
Barnes sits inside the free delivery radius from our Richmond kitchen, so a buffet for twenty or a hundred arrives hot in chafing units, ready to serve, with dish cards naming spice level and allergens. You can also collect from us at 16 Ashburnham Road by arrangement if you would rather set up yourself.
What we bring to a Barnes booking
- Hot Indian buffets delivered to homes, clubs, church halls and boathouses across Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen.
- Vegetarian and vegan dishes cooked separately, alongside halal-sourced meat and poultry from suppliers providing halal-certified products.
- Nut-free as standard, with a written allergen list for the fourteen UK regulated allergens before the day.
- A staffed food stall where an organiser has a pitch for us — trestle tables, hot-holding units, signage and clear-down included.
- Collection from our Richmond kitchen by arrangement when you want to run the serving yourselves.
For the fair committee
The Barnes Community Association emails stallholder application packs in January for the July fair, and gives a discounted stall rate to businesses based in SW13 and SW14. Applications are reviewed rather than taken first-come, so a committee planning its food line-up is usually settling it in the winter.
If you are on the committee and want an Indian food stall on the line-up, tell us below. We hold a 5-star food hygiene rating, cook everything at our own Richmond kitchen and bring it hot — we do not cook live on site, use gas or open flame, or run a bar. Every booking is a paid booking: a stall fee, a guaranteed minimum spend, or a pitch fee and revenue share, agreed in writing before the date is held.
What we can (and cannot) claim
- independently verified — Barnes Fair is held on Barnes Green, Barnes SW13 0LF. The 2026 fair was Saturday 11 July, 9.30am to 5.30pm; the 2027 fair is Saturday 10 July 2027. It is organised by the Barnes Community Association, is free to enter and hosts around 300 stalls.
Jaflong is not claiming to be a past or current Barnes Fair stallholder. Event details on this page come from the organiser and describe the fair, not our own trading history there.
