Event and fair catering rates
What it costs to have a staffed Jaflong food stall at your village fair, school day or community event — including the deposit, before you get in touch.
Organisers tell us they waste weeks chasing caterers who will not put a number in writing. So here is ours up front. Jaflong works on paid bookings and paid partnerships only — we do not provide donated food, free stalls or sponsorship in kind, including for charity and not-for-profit events.
These figures are a starting point for a staffed stall. The exact price depends on your menu and specification, and we confirm it in writing before any date is held.

The rate card
Staffed food stall at a fair or community event
£300 – £600
Depends on the menu and the specification: guest numbers, how long we serve for, the dishes you want and what the pitch requires. Larger or all-day events sit at the upper end; a short school evening or a small community day sits at the lower end.
Deposit and payment
- 25% deposit confirms the booking and holds your date.
- Balance due immediately on delivery.
- Dates are not reserved until the deposit has been received.
- Add-on charges are quoted in writing in advance and are subject to our terms and conditions.
Catering a sit-down or buffet event rather than running a stall? Per-head pricing is set out on the packages page, and the budget planner will give you a figure for your guest numbers.
What the fee covers
- A staffed Indian food stall run by our own team
- Food cooked in our Richmond kitchen and delivered hot to the pitch
- Serving equipment, hot holding and service ware for the stall
- Allergen information and our Food Standards Agency hygiene rating 5 certificate
- Halal-sourced meat and poultry (not HMC certified)
- Menu tailored to your audience and your ticket price point
What it does not cover
- Live cooking on site — everything is cooked at our kitchen and held hot
- A bar or alcohol service
- Plated fine dining at a pitch
- Free or donated catering, including for charity and not-for-profit events
How a paid partnership works
Cross-promotion sits alongside a paid booking, never instead of one. Once a fee is agreed we will promote your event to our own audience, tailor the menu to your visitors and ticket price, and share the photography back with you afterwards. In return we ask for stall branding, a programme or website mention and a link.
Requests with a budget attached are answered first, normally within one working day. Tell us your date, expected footfall, pitch location, power access and any pitch fee, and we will come back with a firm figure. Confirmed dates we are already working to are listed on the event dates page.
Organiser questions
How much does it cost to have Jaflong at our fair?
A staffed Indian food stall is typically between £300 and £600 depending on the menu, the length of service, the number of guests you expect and what the pitch needs. We confirm the exact figure in writing once we have your date, timings and menu.
What deposit do you take?
A 25% deposit confirms the booking and holds your date. The balance is due immediately on delivery. Until the deposit is paid the date stays open to other enquiries.
Do you do free stalls or sponsorship in kind for charity events?
No. Every booking needs a catering budget or a funded arrangement behind it, including charity and not-for-profit events. Food, staff, transport and insurance all cost us money on the day, so we cannot attend on exposure alone. We are glad to support a cause through a paid booking and cross-promotion alongside it.
Why is the price a range rather than a fixed figure?
Because a two-hour school evening for 60 people and a full Saturday fair with continuous service are not the same job. Menu choice, service length, guest numbers, staffing and travel all move the number, so we quote against your actual specification rather than publish one price that would be wrong for most events.
Are there extra charges on top?
Any add-on charges — additional staff hours, travel beyond our standard delivery area, late finishes, extra equipment — are set out in your written quote and are subject to our terms and conditions. Nothing is added after the event that was not agreed beforehand.
How do we pay?
The 25% deposit is paid on confirmation and the balance on delivery. Ask us if your school, council or committee needs an invoice raised to a purchase order — we can work to that.
