Dairy-Free Indian Catering — Richmond
Coconut and tomato-based Indian catering for lactose-intolerant and dairy-avoiding guests across Richmond & South West London
Dairy-Free Indian Catering, Done Without Compromise
Dairy-free catering usually gets treated as an afterthought — one plate at the end of the buffet, dry and forgotten. That is not how we run it at Jaflong. From our Richmond kitchen at 16 Ashburnham Road, TW10 7NF, we build fully dairy-free Indian menus that stand up as a main event rather than a compromise. Indian cooking is on our side: a huge share of the traditional canon is naturally dairy-free, using coconut milk, tomato, tamarind, mustard oil and vegetable stock instead of dairy cream and ghee.
How We Handle Lactose Intolerance and Dairy Allergy
For lactose-intolerant guests at a mixed-diet event, we plate dairy-free alternatives from the same production line as the standard menu. For a fully dairy-free booking we cook with vegetable or coconut oil in place of ghee, use coconut cream in place of dairy cream, and swap naan for chapati or roti as the bread option. For guests with a diagnosed cow's-milk-protein allergy (CMPA) we prepare dishes on cleaned equipment and label individually — please flag this at booking so we can plan the production run accordingly.
A Dairy-Free Menu That Actually Works
A reliable dairy-free spread from our menu looks like this: chicken madras and lamb bhuna as the two mains, chana masala and aloo gobi as vegetable sides, tarka dal, coconut rice, chapati, a mixed salad with mint-and-lemon dressing (no yoghurt), and a fruit-based dessert. Everything is fully allergen-labelled in writing before the event, and backed by our Food Hygiene Rating 5 and £10M public liability documentation.
